(30/10/2003) SIOEN INDUSTRIES : Big in Hong Kong

The IFC Two tower has been wrapped last week. This building is the world's fourth highest building, Asia's second highest and the highest building of Hong Kong. It is situated just at the seashore of Hong Kong and is 415 meter with 88 floors. In order to promote the Financial Times Asia Edition, the newspaper decided to wrap the building in an original way. This stunt made the ' Guinness Book of Records '. The gigantic promotional project was printed on Sioen fabric. The total surface is about 20.000 square meter and 425 litres of ink were used for the print. The material that is used is a standard mesh, this is cloth with holes, of the Sioen range. The many rolls were printed, welded and reinforced to resist winds of 220 km/hour. Trained clim- bers mounted the gigantic ad in 6 parts on the tower. This project seems to work inspiring and other buildings will probably be treated in the same way with Sioen material.
