(02/04/2004) First ambulatory healthcare center in Argentina to go digital choosing Agfa's CR solution

Professional support key to successful entry in digital radiology Mortsel / Belgium, April 2, 2004 The Argentinean Centro de Diagnóstico Dr. Enrique Rossi (CDR), with four sites in Buenos Aires one of Argentina's largest ambulatory healthcare centers, has decided to install its Belgrano center in Buenos Aires with Agfa's Computed Radiography (CR) solution. It's the first ambulatory center in Argentina to go completely digital and it is expected to serve 180 to 200 patients daily. In the midst of one of the worst economic crises Argentina has ever known, CDR has recently opened its fourth ambulatory center in Buenos Aires and decided to go digital immediately. The Agfa CR solution set will digitize the complete workflow from image acquisition to image processing and hardcopy imaging. Further enhancements will be made to the mammography workflow with the integration of an Agfa MAMORAY(tm) Classic E.O.S. processor. The center performs X-ray, ultrasound, magnetic resonance and CT examinations. CDR expects this investment in CR to increase the diagnostic capacity of the Belgrano center, thanks to better image quality and consequently less retakes. According to Dr. Santiago Rossi, Medical Director of CDR, 'Agfa demonstrated that next to an adequate solution, it also has the knowledge to guide a healthcare organization on its path to digital radiology, guaranteeing timely implementation, quality and professional support.' To Dr. Rossi, this is the first step on the path to a full-blown digital radiology environment, giving way to the migration to digital in the other three centers of the group, to the incorporation of digital mammography and the integration of all facilities in a single PACS environment. Says Dr. Rossi: 'We consider our relationship with Agfa as a true partnership that will lead us into the digital radiology world as one of Argentina's prime healthcare providers.'
